FORMATION
One circle - partners standing side by side, facing each other.         Partners also need to identify their neighbour (the one standing  behind them who is not their partner). Ribbons held in right hand.

DANCE - WIND UP
Partners dance clockwise round each other 4 or 5 times to finish in their own place (24 bars). All about turn and neighbours dance clockwise round each other to finish in their own place (24 bars). DANCE - UNWIND
Reverse direction of dance. Dancers will have to wait until the next person they are going round is ready. Finish facing out and bow.

NOTES
This is a variation of the simple ROPES dance (q.v.) and is a good alternative to other open weave dances like Spider’s Web and Gypsies’ Tent as the dancers are less likely to go wrong.   It doesn’t really matter how many times individual couples go round each other and it doesn’t really matter which way round they go BUT they will have to look carefully at the ribbons to see which way to go when they unwind.
